Santa fe continued

In the last few days I have laid adobe brick with traditional mixed mud. Still managed to get a few cement burns on the arms. Laying dirt brick is not quite the same as kiln cured. The buggers tend to crack just when you are setting them into the course. I have also laid mosaic tile grouted grinded and sanded. It seems like the cement mixer has been my best friend. The days tend to start around 9 in the morning and don't finish till about 10 or later at night. Santa Fe is gorgeous. The landscape is fantastic and i am getting a lot of ideas that will definitely feed into by work. The group of people both artist and staff that I am meeting are excellent and are all doing exciting things. One gent Jason part of the doc crew just got a gig with PBS for a project on the travesty on the US Mexico border in Arizona. There are more stories like his that are just as exciting if not more. As soon as I get a pic of the bottle sculpture I did for Hiroshi one of site artists rest assured it will be posted. Right now we are driving (someone else) up to Diablo Canyon to install one of the mosaic tombs (the brain child of Erick Beltran), it should be good. For now the entire crew here is pushing for the openings that begin Thursday. Talk more soon.

Site is a site

Lots of work going on here. The artists are here and installing. All in total there is about 50 people working on this show and it really shows. The space is designed incredibly well. Everyone is working really hard. Lots of stress a little bit of drama but that is the art world after all. Tomorrow looks like I might get a break and a few of the other interns are going for a road trip to Taos. Hopefully we find a few trails to chase along the way. More soon.
